We get things wrong sometimes. What matters is that the record is fixed quickly, visibly, and without quietly rearranging history. This page is the whole procedure.

Report an error

Email [email protected] with:

  • the URL of the story in question;
  • what you believe is wrong, and why;
  • a link to the source, document, or data that supports your correction.

There is no contact form on this site — email is the working channel. We read every message and check the underlying source before changing anything. We do not promise a specific turnaround time; substantive corrections are prioritized.

What a correction looks like

  • The error is corrected in the story itself, not only here.
  • A dated correction note appears with the story saying what was wrong and what the correct information is.
  • The original publication date stays; we do not rewrite publishedAt to hide a fix, and we do not silently delete passages.
  • When a headline or summary changes, the corrected version is what readers and search engines see from then on.

Clarifications

If something we published was accurate but easy to misread, we add a clarification note rather than pretending nothing happened.

Withdrawals

When a story cannot be salvaged — a source retracted, a claim turned out unsupported, or the core finding was wrong — we withdraw it:

  • the URL keeps working, so old links do not land on a broken page, but the page now shows a withdrawal notice instead of the original claims;
  • the page is marked noindex and removed from our sitemap, RSS feed, and Google News listings;
  • it no longer carries news-article structured data, so it is not presented as current news.

Source-based fixes

Because we summarize other people's reporting, corrections often start at the source. If the underlying source updates or retracts, we revisit the dependent story, note the change, and update or withdraw it accordingly.

Record

Corrections are appended to the affected stories as they happen. If you need the correction history for a particular article, ask at [email protected] and we will send it.
